Occa is a suspended installation developed for Rezan Has Museum as the culmination of the Parametric Design: Minimal Tectonics seminar.
The project abstracts the hollow structure and skeletal logic of Ferrea occa, a glass sponge documented by Ernst Haeckel. Students moved from soap-film form finding to parametric models that replicated, varied, and refined minimal-surface geometries.
The final installation was produced from laser-cut forex sheet components joined with rivets and suspended from four points with steel ropes. The portfolio metadata lists 2022, while the revised CV lists the completed installation in 2023.
