Calyx is a site-specific sculpture commissioned by the University of Rochester to celebrate a new age in which technology, art, nature, and knowledge become intertwined.

The sculpture’s dynamic form and patterning are influenced by leaf-venation systems found in nature, which produce structural networks and organic forms.

Its canopy acts as a recognizable campus landmark while creating a gathering place for students and visitors.
